4. In Mexico, they don't baptize newborns... they are usually baptized about 2 yrs of age.

6. I was raised Catholic and I didn't baptize my two children. I don't believe in it. I really don't think it matters and why would a child be born with "sin" anyway. It's just a ritual made up by the church.

8. Not being baptized does NOT condemn you to hell. And just because a baby is not baptized doesn't mean it's going to hell. Anyone, before the age of accountability, goes straight to the Father if they die. Period. Why would God send a newborn baby to hell? For that matter, what if the baby dies due to miscarriage? It certainly hasn't had a chance to be baptized, so the baby is going to hell? Come on!

NO ONE in the Bible was baptized as an infant - they were all adults making the DECISION to follow Jesus in baptism. (Also, please not that all biblical baptisms were by TOTAL EMMERSION - not sprinkling the head!) Babies cannot make that decision for themselves, until they're old enough to understand (age of accountability) and WANT to follow Jesus' commandment because of their faith in Him. I read that even the Catholic church is changing their stance on this...

9. If you believe then you know that baptisim is not just a tradition. The Bible does not require infant bptism. It says that a person should have a personal desire. It is ok to wait till the child is older, and let him or her express a desire.

12. Yo creo que una persona quien es Catolica se mande a bauptizar la nina. La igleasia piensa que bebes se creecen con la picado original po eso se debe bauptizarla. Se puede recibila el dia de naciemiento. Y porque no! No se va a darle mas problemeas y esta es la fe de la madre.

13. The Bible says that if you believe you can be baptised. Babies do not believe. In every case of baptism in the Bible the person was a believing adult. There is no case of a single infant baptism. In several passages in the Bible it also states that baptism is one of the requirements of salvation, not the only one, but one of the essential elements.

14. She has free will but she is responsible also for the spiritual well being of her child which is just as important and even more important than her physical welfare. Baptism is a simple ceremony that makes the baby a child of God and opens for her the possibility of eternal life with God.

15. This is her child and its her perogative to baptize the baby. I myself am a Catholic and yes it is tradition but its also her choice. There is nothing wrong with not baptizing the baby right now, she may change her mind later.
